Caterpillar Leader Alison Noble Wins Big for Charity!
Bassetlaw Play Forum children's charity, of which Alison is the chair, was shortlisted in ITV's competition for a share in "The People's Millions" in association with the Big Lottery Fund. Alison had the idea for the Bassetlaw Play Forum because children seem to be getting older younger and traditional shared play experiences are taking a back seat. As we know at Caterpillar Music, isolated play does not help children grow and develop and vital life skills are not gained without the opportunity for socialising with other children and adults.

Through the project, children will take up a variety of play challenges, in exchange for achievement awards. The wider community will also be brought together, as play experiences outside of the home will be on offer.

Although they didn't win their section vote, they won the Bonus Award for the full amount they applied for - this grant will enable Bassetlaw Play Forum to run an awards scheme to encourage children to take up new play challenges, develop ideas and create opportunities for others.

They will play a critical role in encouraging different generations to share traditional play ideas and workshops. Family fun days will encourage families to take part in creative play using recycled resources. The project will also offer volunteering opportunities to adults with learning disabilities.

Congratulations Alison, Caterpillar Music is very proud of you!
