My name is Jo Skinner and I run Caterpillar Music Classes throughout Medway, Sittingbourne and Faversham

About Me

I am Married with one child, Emily who is 5 years old.  I have been running classes in Medway for 3 years.  I came across Caterpillar Music when I was trying to find a fun musical weekly activity for my daughter. I felt it was important to introduce music in a fun, relaxed, informal, enjoyable way.  I found Caterpillar Music, but when there wasn't a class in the area for me to attend I set up my own....resulting in the classes I run today!

Previously to this I was a store manager for a large retail unit with 200 staff in S.E London.

Musically from a young age I have played piano, flute and had singing lessons, working my way through the Associated Board of Music and Trinty grading systems.  I have taken part in many choral events, the highlight being singing in the Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall.

What do we do at Caterpillar Music Classes......

I try to make every session special, full of exciting activities and surprises.Colourful percussion instruments, amazing puppets, great music and weekly themes mean it’s not just the little ones who learn & have a great time, parents and carers enjoy the relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Educational music play sessions for young babies and toddlers encourage language development, listening skills, co-ordination, confidence, social skills, an early introduction to music and much more.  But best of all we have FUN!!

CLASS INFORMATION

Each 40 minute class is full of fun activities and is divided into two age groups. Caterpillars    0 to 3yrs

This class is great for babies and toddlers. This class programme is full of songs, music, puppets & more…

Butterflies     18 months to 4yrs

A class for toddlers on the move! The same class programme with even more action songs!

We offer concessions for families with twins or multiples and siblings - please ask for details.

You can join a class at any time during the term, and change your class time/day if you would like to, subject to available places. All children are to be accompanied by an adult (parent/carer).

CATERPILLAR MUSIC PARTIES

I know how important your Child's Birthday is, both to you and the Birthday Child.  I will tailor the entertainment for the age group attending and ensure that all of the Birthday Child's favourite songs are included.  I'll bring along a pass the parcel with a difference, parachute, puppets, bubbles, lots of LOUD instruments, ribbons, beanbags, songs, music and a bundle of energy to ensure that your party is enjoyed by adults and children alike.

A combination of simple party games, action songs, instruments and amazing puppets provide a special party where young children can join in as much as they want to...

Each party is full of fun activities and lasts one hour;

Caterpillar Music parties are suitable for babies and children aged 0 to 4yrs and are also enjoyed by big brothers and sisters too!

Each party has one member of the Caterpillar Music team for one hour, music, instruments and puppets for every child to use during the session, a pass the parcel game and a present for the birthday child! Parents should be invited to stay with children 0 to 3yrs, as this will make the session more enjoyable for everyone. Numbers of children should be limited to 20/24.

Butterflies

If your child is 18 months or over and is a confident walker and you would like to move up to the Butterfly group at St.Mary’s Island or Walderslade, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate you.

This Weeks Theme

Every week we have a theme, try to remember to bring something in from home to show us.
