MAGGIE

WELCOME TO CATERPILLAR MUSIC HERE ON THE ISLE OF WIGHT.

My name is Maggie and I have been running Caterpillar Music classes on the Island since 2006 with the aim of teaching young babies and toddlers  vital skills simply by having fun. MUSIC_WITH_MAGGIE

WHAT IS CATERPILLAR MUSIC?

  • Caterpillar Music offers learning in a fun and relaxed atmosphere where we allow every child to progress at their own pace.
  • All our classes are carefully structured so that all Under 5's can partake in  every activity and classes run at an appropriate pace in order to hold the attention of all the children.
  • Our songs are exciting and fun and are accompanied by a wide selection of captivating puppets and exciting instruments - the puppets are incorporated into all of our songs and we are able to teach rhythm through use of our instruments.
  • Caterpillar Music classes are varied week by week in order to stimulate and entertain yet all songs are repeated regulary throughout the term to maintain learning.

THE BENEFITS OF COMING TO CATERPILLAR MUSIC...

  • The benefits are enormous - your little one will learn many valuable development skills at one of our classes including building on their speech and language, vocabulary and memory skills.  In addition to which their confidence and social skills will also be enhanced.

  • The children who regularly attend caterpillar Music certainly excel and show major developmental skills.

  • These benefits are ongoing and expected outcomes are children who feel more confident within themselves from having experienced and gained vital skills at a Caterpillar Music class.  The children have much to gain and can use the skills they have learnt well into the future.

Most importantly, Caterpillar Music classes are FUN with new  innovative songs, a show and tell every week and of course we find out what adventures Cosmo, our Caterpillar Music Bear has had while he has been staying with one of the children each week !!!MUSIC_WITH_DADDY

Mummies, Daddies and Grandparents activity join in making our classes one of the  most popular Pre-School activities on the Island.

What our Mummies say about Caterpillar Music.....

"My son has been going to Caterpillar Music for over 18 months and he absolutely loves it and even knows that on Thursday it is Caterpillar Music day.  Maggie is so amazing with all the children, remembering which are their favourite songs and really taking the time to get the children to join in at their own pace.  My son loves it when it is our week for show and tell and we have fun painting, sticking, making or finding things for the theme that week.  Joining Caterpillar Music has given both me and my son a new circle of friends who all adore both going to Caterpillar Music and Maggie herself"  CLAIRE - SIMON'S MUMMY

"What impresses me most about Maggie is her natural ability to interact and encourage the children.  Her never ending energy and enthusiasm keeps the children attention throughout the class, meaning all participate - even my seven month old."  ARAN - OLIVIA AND BEATRICE'S MUMMY

"Maggie held a fantastic birthday party for Willliam - each and every child there from 2-7 years old thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I asked William what he thought and he said BRILLIANT" - TAMMY, WILLIAM'S MUMMY

A Caterpillar Music Birthday Party is full of fun activities where your little one and their friends will love meeting all the animal puppets, along with plenty of movement, singing and music making.

PARTY

Parties are suitable for all Under 5's but even older siblings, parents and grandparents simply can't resist joining in the fun.

A combination of action songs, movement, captivating puppets and exciting instruments will make for a very memorable day for your little one.

I will come along to your home or chosen venue and provide one hour of music, movement along with puppets and instruments for every child to use. I will also provide a pass the parcel game and lots of fun bubbles.

"Rufus could not have been more delighted to see Maggie at his birthday party. Maggie fully engaged with family and friends of varying ages and having her deliver such a great session gave Rufus some familiarity within a birthday party situation. This is a birthday we will remember for being filled with music, laughter and fun. Thank you very much Maggie" VIKKI, RUFUS'S MUMMY

"My twins Libby and Jessica had a wonderful time at their Caterpillar Music party for their 2nd birthday. They so look forward to the Caterpillar Music session they attend at their Nursery so it seemed a brilliant idea to have an hour long music party at home with Maggie. They really enjoy the puppets and the musical instruments they play and love doing all the actions to the songs - it's a joy to watch" SAM, JESSICA & LIBBY'S MUMMY

THERE IS ALWAYS A LOT OF NEWS AND EVENTS FOR CATERPILLAR MUSIC HERE ON THE ISLAND - HERE IS JUST A SMALL SELECTION.......

EVENTS

Caterpillar Music on the Island strongly believe in community and in teaching our children to "give back" to that community and to those less fortunate than themselves.  Since 2006 the children from Caterpillar Music have been involved in fundraising events - these have been fun events with lots of prizes for the children and every year a Raffle with prizes donated by Island businesses.

To date, Caterpillar Music have raised almost £7000.00 for needy Island causes.

IMG_0001-CRAZY_DUCK_APPEAL2006 we joined together for a "Sponsored Sing Song" which saw the children singing continuously for 15 IMG_0019-CRAZY_DUCK_APPEAL_2minutes !!!  The children raised £700.00 for The Crazy Duck Appeal.  All the monies raised by the Appeal went to needy Island children.

CATERPILLAR CRAWL FOR NICU2007 saw the children partake in a "Caterpillar Christmas Crawl" in aid of NICU who are aiming to raise £700,000.00 for their new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Mary's Hospital, Newport.  The children wore amazing costumes with prizes awarded to many of them CATERPILLAR CRAWL PRIZEand despite a very wet and windy day over 150 walkers braved the weather for the 3 mile walk through Parkhurst Forest enabling us to raise £3000.00 for this much needed Island facility.

walk_on_wheels12008 brought  a bright and sunny day for our event which was a 2 mile "Walk on Wheels" from Puckpool Park along the seafront in Ryde raising money for The Rainbow Club - the newly formed Down Syndrome support group here on the Island.walk_on_wheels5 The children decorated their bikes, trikes, buggies and scooters and we raised £2000.00 which gave The Rainbow Club a really good start to their group.

CATERPILLAR_MUSIC 2009 was a chilly day but we soon warmed up as we embarked on our 3 mile Wilderness Walk which saw the children dress up as animals.  There were lots of prizes awarded to the children and a fantastic Raffle with prizes donated from many IslandPRIZE_WINNER_WLDERNESS_WALK_2009 businesses.  We were delighted to have raised a further £600.00 for NICU and also funding for the much needed special Swing Base at Beaulieu House, who provide respite for Island families.
