Hello my name is Margaret Greenslade and I run classes in BECKENHAM and WEST WICKHAM.

About me

I am married with three daughters now aged 20, 17,and 14. We also have an adorable dog called Barney. After spending 14 years as a stay at home mum, I first started working for Caterpillar Music as a class leader in 2001 and enjoyed it so much that when the opportunity arose in 2003 to buy the franchise for Beckenham and West Wickham, I jumped at it.

I find my job very rewarding and I get a great thrill watching the little ones that come along to my classes not only growing in size but in confidence. It is also very heart warming when the children run into class and give me a big cuddle, they are so happy and excited to be there. It is nice also to have a chat with the grown ups between classes.

At Caterpillar Music we offer fun music sessions for babies and toddlers from 0 to 4 years. With a different theme each week we have lots of FUN together singing well known nursery rhymes and action songs. We have adorable puppets for all, and a fantastic selection of colourful percussion instruments for the children to choose from and play.

Our classes encourage language development, listening skills, co-ordination and confidence. They are suitable for both very shy and lively tots.

The main aim of my classes is for the children to enjoy themselves whilst learning in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. It is also a great way for the parents and carers to come along and meet old and new friends.

The boys have different personalities - one is outgoing, the other is shy and Caterpillar Music has been great enjoyment for both of them.

Margaret is very relaxed with the children and encourages them to "express" themselves! This is a great class for children to interact with others and I have made some lovely friends too!

Caterpillar music in West Wickham (in the church opposite the new Sainsburys) is great fun, and I urge you to try it with your little ones. When I turned up for the first trial week with my little boy Joseph, I was immediately impressed by Margaret's enthusiastic nature. We go to Caterpillar music in West Wickham on Monday morning and both my girls have loved the session. I have two daughters 5 and 2 and the youngest is there at the moment. She loves the songs and practices them all week. Her favourite part is when they wake the animals up and they have a dance. Both the girls LOVE Wind the Bobbin up!!! Margaret is a great teacher and all the children respond to her.

Class Information

Each 40 minute class is full of fun activities and is divided into two age groups.If you are unsure which class to choose for your child,please call your class co-ordinator,Margaret Greenslade on 0208 406 4193  for more advice and assistance. Caterpillars 0 to 3 years

This class is great for babies and toddlers. This programme is full of songs,music,puppets and more....

Butterflies 18 months to 4 years

A class for toddlers on the move! The same programme with even more action songs!

We offer concessions for families with twins or multiples and siblings -please ask for details.

You can join a class at any time during the term,and change your class time/day if you would like to,subject to available places. All children are to be accompanied by an adult (parent/carer).

Parties :

Your child's Birthday is a BIG celebration for both you and the birthday boy/girl and I will make sure  that everyone at the party has a great time..

Each part is full of fun and activities and lasts for one hour.

Caterpillar music parties are suitable for babies and children aged 1 to 4 years and are also enjoyed by big brothers and sisters.

I can entertain at your home or choice of venue or even in your garden,weather permitting.

I will bring along a variety of colouful puppets to show and a large selection of instruments for the children to choose from at music time.We will sing nursery rhymes and action songs and play some simple party games for example, pass the parcel (of course the birthday child always wins!!). The children can join in as much as they want to..

Some parents should stay with children 0 to 3 years, as this will make the party more enjoyable for everyone. Numbers should be limited to 20/24.
