Babies

Babies love music. They also enjoy watching other babies and older children- it encourages them to crawl, stand up and eventually start taking a few steps in order to follow the fun with the older children!

When the box of instruments arrives it is so exciting to watch a baby crawl over and choose an instrument for the first time, and the whole group stops still as the 1 year old who has just found her feet, takes her first few steps across the room! It is very rewarding to watch a young baby who joins Caterpillar Music through many stages of development, growing in confidence all the time.

Babies soon recognise favourite songs, rhymes and music and we do tell parents to sing our songs at home too and see the results!

Toddlers

The Caterpillar class is a mixed age group for young babies and toddlers, with a great atmosphere and enables siblings and friends to come together when there are children of different ages. Every class is different, according to the ages of children there - ask your local class coordinator for advice when choosing a class for your toddler.
