Catherine and Louise run the Kensington and Chelsea franchise with classes opening in Kensington, Chelsea, Knightsbridge & Notting Hill. They became friends whilst pupils at The Purcell School of Music and both continued their education gaining music degrees from The Royal College of Music.
Catherine graduated on the violin and has worked as a freelance musician since finishing college. She has also taught violin and piano privately to all ages and abilities. Her work has taken her across the globe through orchestra tours, concerts and even dinner serenades on private yachts.
She has also played on several TV shows including Top of the Pops with Leona Lewis, Westlife and for The X Factor.
Recently returning from working abroad, Catherine now wants to concentrate on music education. After hearing about Caterpillar Music she knew that this was the perfect way of bringing music and learning together in a fun way. Not only for the child but for the carer too!
Louise joined The Purcell School of Music on the violin and later took up the french horn. She received the Associated Board grade 8 distinction silver award and continued her studies at The Royal College of Music gaining a BMus(hons). Since graduating Louise has taught and worked freelance with many orchestras and ensembles including the City of London Sinfonia, Jersey Symphony Orchestra and The BBC National Orchestra of Wales. She has been a soloist at St James's Piccadilly and given a solo recital in the Valetta Opera House in Malta.
She has also played in Cabaret, South Pacific, Oliver! and appeared in a music video shoot.
Louise began learning the piano at the age of three whilst sitting on her grandmother's lap and remembers how much she enjoyed it. Now she wants to give other children the same association of learning music with fun. An interest and pleasure that can stay with you for life.
